A trip to Kozhikode / Calicut is incomplete without tasting the delectable black halwa. Milk from all purpose flour (maida) is extracted and added to boiling sugar syrup and continuously stirred using an old wooden spatula until it thickens. Coconut oil is added to this molten mixture and then set on trays, cut and served. For those who love the hint of coconut, this one hits the spot and bang for the buck! When in Kozhikode, give it a shot!
